Most trading journals live after the trade. You log what happened, tag it, and move on. Session Plan adds the missing half: preparation before the session, and an honest comparison once the day is over. Plan → execute → reflect, in one place.
Where to Find It
Open The Playbook and choose the Plan tab (Session Plan). Each plan belongs to one session date — pick the day you're preparing (today or tomorrow), and everything you save stays attached to that date.
1. Write the Game Plan
The editor is free text — thesis, key levels, session targets, mindset. There's a pre-session checklist too (economic calendar, levels, setup rules, mindset) so the basics don't slip when the market gets loud.
2. Mark Your Levels on Real Charts
Under Chart, load any symbol — crypto, forex, stocks or index proxies — and pick your timeframe. The chart pulls up to a year of context on 4h candles (or ~6 months on 30m), so you're not looking at a tiny window.
Then draw on it: horizontal levels, trendlines, rectangles, arrows and text with the same annotation toolbar you know from your trades. Working a plan across several assets? Add chart and each symbol gets its own chart and its own drawings.
Prefer your own platform's screenshots? Upload them right below the chart — they unfold at full width and you can annotate them too, with the exact same tools.
3. Pick the Setups You Plan to Trade
The Planned setups chips come straight from your Setup Library — the setups you have already defined there, with entry triggers, exit rules and risk management. If the list looks empty, open the Setup Library tab and create one first: it shows up here automatically. Mark what you intend to trade today: Breakout, Pullback — whatever your playbook says. This is what makes the end-of-day comparison real.
4. Close the Loop: That Day's Execution
The right panel summarizes what actually happened that day: trades, win rate, net P&L per currency, and the tags used (setups and mistakes, with counts). Below that, Plan adherence shows exactly where you stuck to the plan — ✓ for planned setups you traded, ✗ for the ones you didn't, and a heads-up when you traded something that wasn't in the plan at all. View trades → jumps straight to that day's trades in the Journal.
5. Reflect — With or Without AI
Plan review is your own closing note: what differed, what worked, what you'd repeat. And if you want a second pair of eyes, Analyze with AI compares your written plan against the day's numbers and returns a short structured review — what matched, what deviated, and one concrete action for next session. It only runs when you click it, it only sees your plan text and aggregated day stats, and once generated it stays saved with your plan.
Find Your Plans in the Calendar
Days with a plan carry a small PLAN badge on the calendar. Click the badge (or the day, if it has no trades) and you're back in that session's plan — charts, drawings and review included.
That's the full loop: prepare, execute, compare, reflect. A few minutes before the session can save hours of "what went wrong" after it.
Note: this tab was originally called "Plan" and is now "Session Plan" — if you see "Plan" in an older screenshot, it is the same feature.
